Linux
Linux is a free open source operating system that is based on Unix. It is fas becoming very popular as for the reason that it is a
powerful low-cost operating system for running servers. Intoweb is a web designing company that is
well known for magnificent web design. We also distribute Linux CD's and the open source
software CD's.
The Linux CD's and the open source software CD's that are offered by Intoweb can be installed into your computer.
Intoweb has the following Linux CD that we distribute to the general public at an even-handed cost:
MANDRAKE
Mandrake Linux is a GNU/Linux distribution created by Mandriva and
it is a complete and comprehensive Linux distribution consisting
entirely of free and open source software. It diverged from
Red Hat and has included a number of original tools mostly
to ease system configuration. Including a variety of office
software, internet utilities, a number of games, and servers,
Mandrake Linux comes with a couple of hundred software packages.
Rather than to use a text editor for settings changes, Mandrake
Linux performs administration through the Mandriva Control
Center. Different settings can be configured with such programs
sas Drakes or Draks (collectively known as Drakxtools).
For example, Mousedrake is used to set up a mouse, while Drakconnect
aids with network connections. The majority of these Drakxtools
can run in both text and graphical mode as they are written
with the use of Perl and GTK+.
The standard desktops for use with Mandrake Linux are GNOME
and KDE. Others such as Blackbox, Twm, Window Maker and IceWM,
are however included as well. Consistency between the desktop
environment and applications is afforded by a unique theme
known as "Mandrakegalaxy" which debuted in version
9.1 and was later released as Mandrakegalaxy II appearing
in version 10.0. Another variant of Mandrakegalaxy is "Mandrakegalaxy
Squared" which prefers the use of square window buttons
over round ones.
Constant development for the improvement of Mandrake Linux
is taking place all the time. The "Cooker", a development
version of Mandriva Linux, is publicy available; This is however
not recommended for use in a production environment as a result
of the constant changes taking place in the development of
this software. The latest packages of popular software provided
by community members are RPMs.
FEDORA
Fedora Core is an operating system and platform, based on
Linux. A large community of people, who strive to provide
and maintain the very best in free, open source software and
standard develops it. In fact, Fedora is infinite freedom.
With a strong commitment to free and open source technologies
the users of the Fedora Core operating system need not worry
about copyright licenses or patent restrictions. A large variety
of packages for office and business use are provided by Fedora;
and this includes the powerful OpenOffice.org suite.
Ease of use is a key focus on the part of Fedora developers
as is reflected in the user-friendly Gnome desktop. Because
of the emphasis placed on this concern, users need never have
to worry that they will not be able to make use of their Fedora
Core systems.
Fedora is reliable when it comes to security as it possesses
such advanced security features as Exec-Shield, SELinux
and a solid firewall. No user will ever be left behind when
it comes to security fixes and new security releases as Fedora
provides rapid reponse time and maintenance packages for previous
releases. Fedora Legacy even makes limited maintenance support
available for those releases which have passed their End of
Life. A user does not even have to worry about monitoring
update releases as support is given by Fedora Legacy for automatic
updates. All-in-all Fedora Core is a security powerhouse to
be trusted.
A wide variety of programs that are standards-compliant and
interoperable are provided to users through the operation
of Fedora Core. Fedora furthermore offers Fedora Extras, which
allows a user to do whatever they wish with the number of
all-purpose packages included herein. These extras include
access to a large number of simple and complex games arising
from a wide range of genres. Further access is enabled to
other entertaining programs which include drawing tools and
even a space stimulator called Celestia.
Intoweb does not only distribute the software CD's to users. We also provides training programs that will enable
the user to learn how to install and configure the software.
