During 1991 the first linux was introduced the founder of linix was a student called Linus Benedict Torvalds .He wanted to design an operating system that could have full support for every feature used on operating systems from hard disks to support for VGA EGA .He Introduced the first version of Linux in 1991 Version 0.01 was introduced in mid September 1991,then version 0.02 in October 5th, then came the third Linux version 0.03, by December came version 0.10, by then Linux was good but not good enough ,then He created version 0.11 which was much better with support for multilingual keyboards , floppy disk drivers, support for VGA,EGA, Hercules etc.Till today Linux is one of the most fastest growing operating system in history.And the best operating system to have.
